  18. IN all this talk of aspect ratio, I have just found a new problem.

  20. I have to "sneaker-net" a PowerMac at work and my Toaster at home. 
  21. Friday I brought home 2 JPeg'ed still frames. I worked up animations 
  22. (we're trying to recreate the effect of a  film burning in the gate).

  24. I'm using an IMIX (Video Cube) at work.
  25. Here's my procedure - I stilled the video at the point where the "film" 
  26. is supposed to stop in the gate. These were brought into PhotoShop and 
  27. saved as JPEG files - 640x480. (BTW these pix look perfect when brought 
  28. back into the Imix.)

  30. At the Toaster, I made a 640x480 plane and mapped the pictures to it (one 
  31. at a time of course). The camera was at 3.2 zoom and was placed at -7.6 Z.
  32. I performed various miracles and saved it as 30 frames, cropped each one 
  33. to 640x480 and saved them to disk(s) as TARGA files.

  35. They are just "a little bit" too large! The Y axis is perfect, it seems, 
  36. but the X axis is too wide. Is this the pixel aspect? I'm not too bright 
  37. I guess, but I thought my method was going to work...
